Fire safety
Fire safety in the home is the most important thing you can teach your kids. There are plenty of things you can do as a parent to make sure you receive plenty of warning in the event of a fire.
The most effective form of fire safety is smoke alarms and escape routes. Smoke alarms should be placed outside bedrooms in the hall and inside the bedrooms, if possible. Because smoke generally happens before flame in a house fire, smoke alarms are considered the best early warning device.
Escape routes are an important part of fire safety because kids and adults should both know alternative ways of getting out of the house in case of fire. Talk about alternative escape routes and even practice them with your children.
