Fire prevention
Fire prevention can mean the difference between life and death. Here
are some of the things you can do to lessen fire danger in your life:
• Don’t leave matches or lighters lying around –
When you have matches or lighters setting around where a child can get
to it, you are asking for problems. Often, children simply do not understand
how dangerous it is to play with matches or lighters. All they know
is that lighters and matches make fire and fire is ‘cool’.
There are way too many occasions where a large fire starts simply because
a small child begins to play with a lighter and does not fully realize
the danger of doing so.
• Properly extinguish campfires – Do not simply stomp the
fire out, because there could still be small burning embers left behind.
Make sure you take a bucket of water and pour it over the fire to ensure
that no embers are left.
Fire prevention is something that should not be taken lightly. Smoke
alarms in the home are really the best thing you can do to keep your
life and your family’s a bit safer
